DUME stands for Destruction Unto My Enemies. This candle is prepared for baneful workings aimed at an enemy’s ruin: closing their roads, destroying their plans, breaking their influence, and bringing down the conditions that allow them to prosper. The intention reaches beyond whatever they happen to be doing against you today. It goes after the stability, support, favor, and opportunities they depend on.
You can direct this working toward the collapse of a particular undertaking or work more broadly against an enemy’s advancement. That might mean destroying the prospects of a scheme they have invested in, fracturing an alliance that gives them power, stripping away the favor that has kept doors open for them, or bringing sustained failure into areas where they have grown comfortable succeeding.
There is still something distinctly Chessie about the approach. The work is intended to move without announcing its source, taking hold beneath the surface while the target remains occupied with the consequences. Support falls away. Plans become unworkable. What looked secure begins to come apart.
Destruction is the purpose here, not an unfortunate side effect. Choose this candle when ruin is the outcome you intend to petition for, rather than temporary frustration, a warning, or a little inconvenience.
How to Work Your Candle
Write your target’s name on a petition and state plainly what you intend to destroy. Naming the person identifies the target; naming the outcome gives your working its direction. Be specific about whether you are addressing their influence, opportunities, alliances, prosperity, a particular endeavor, or the broader foundations of their success.
For a focused working, keep the petition centered on that objective. A petition against someone’s influence, for example, can address the support, credibility, access, and cooperation that allow them to exercise it. For broader destruction work, name the areas you intend to reach rather than leaving the meaning of “destruction” undefined.
Keep your petition outside the candle vessel, safely away from heat and flame. Speak your intention over the candle before lighting it. You may return to the same petition across supervised burning sessions, following the candle’s care instructions.
