This is a back-to-basics box.
For Hoodoo Heritage Month, I wanted to create something centered on the roots: the oils, roots, coins, curios, charms, and working materials that have been used in conjure for generations.
Inside are 31 individual items, one for each day of October.
Think of it as a month-long exploration of foundational rootwork. You may find traditional oils, roots, lucky coins, prepared curios, mojo work, powders, and other staples pulled from the working cabinet of a rootworker.
The oils included in this box will be ½ oz bottles, rather than my standard full-size bottles, so I can give you a much wider range of traditional formulas without turning this into a box that weighs fifteen pounds.
And no, you do not have to practice Hoodoo to purchase this box.
These items come from the material culture and working traditions of Hoodoo, and that history matters. I am not interested in stripping them of where they come from. But roots are still roots. Oils are still oils. Coins, herbs, curios, powders, and charms can be incorporated into many different spiritual practices.
If you practice Hoodoo, this may feel like a return to the cabinet.
If you are new to rootwork, it gives you an introduction to some of the foundational materials you have probably heard mentioned but may never have actually worked with.
If your practice comes from somewhere else entirely, you can still use the contents in ways that make sense within your own work.
This is not a “you must practice exactly like me” box.
It is a working box.
A learning box.
A collection of useful spiritual tools with history behind them.
Expect classics such as High John the Conqueror, Fast Luck, traditional lucky coins, roots, mojo work, and other recognizable staples of conjure, along with plenty that I am deliberately keeping a surprise.
By the end of the month, you will have built yourself a miniature working cabinet filled with materials for things like luck, money, success, protection, cleansing, road opening, love, influence, justice, personal power, and more.
Some things will be familiar.
Some things may send you researching.
Some things may become permanent fixtures in your own work.
